Good deeds will meet community needs this spring during Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer’s week of service, scheduled for April 15-22.

There are plenty of opportunities to roll up your sleeves, get involved and volunteer, and here’s how to do it.

Just visit www.mygiveaday.com to view a list of nonprofit organizations in our area that have identified projects for volunteers to tackle during the week of service.

You’re then able to register for the project of your choice and claim your spot. Or, if you’re a group leader you can register all the volunteers on your team.

Want to organize your own volunteer effort during that week? You can register your own event on the website as well and even build more support for it. After you register, you’re set. It’s that easy.

So, take a look and get involved to the extent you can.

Whether you can give an hour, a half-day or a full day, your contribution will make a difference in our community and help the lives of neighbors and organizations in need.

No project or need is too large or too small.

Until next time, keep using energy wisely.
