Natasha Collins to join LG&E and KU as director of media relations

We are happy to welcome Natasha Collins to our company as the director of media relations. Collins will be joining us from Louisville’s CBS affiliate WLKY where she anchors the morning show.
During her tenure at WLKY over the last 10 years as a news anchor and reporter, Collins covered a range of news and feature stories from politics to community activities. Before joining WLKY, she worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor in KTVQ in Billings, Mont., where she won an Associated Press award for “Best Spot News.”

“Natasha is going to be a great asset to our team,” said Chris Whelan, vice president of Corporate Communications. “Her award-winning journalism skills and her ‘can do’ spirit will serve us well. We’re looking forward to having her on board.”
Collins earned a Master of Arts in journalism from Emerson College, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations, telecommunications and film from Eastern Michigan University.
She is also very active in the community, hosting events such as the YMCA Black Achiever Award show and the Kentucky Derby Festival’s They’re Off Luncheon. She also serves on the Spina Bifida Association of Kentucky board and teaches fitness in her spare time.
As part of LG&E and KU’s Corporate Communications Department, Collins will be in charge of the companies’ media relations activities; the media relations team; and serve as the primary spokesperson for the utilities.
