Our employees break a sweat to keep customers cool

The heat index is expected to reach into the triple digits. When it gets this toasty, many of us try to stay cool in the shade or inside with the A/C blasting. But that’s not an option for our line techs who work hours outside in the heat. In this video, our line techs show how they always work safely, regardless of the temperature. Some of them have to wear protective clothing like an arc flashing suit. It keeps our employees safe, but the heavy material makes for a very hot work day.
It’s also steamy inside our coal plants. Near the boilers, temperatures can climb to 125 degrees. Check out the story from WLKY last year.
